Your story brings back memories of childhood. The time spent at a nuns school, peeking through the window to see the new knee high habits of the nuns and their new caps where you could see some hair! A priest coming over to school for lessons in religion - why couldn’t a sister do that? As I grew older the resistance to being forced to go to church on Sundays, the question why there was no place for women in church, other than in a serving role? And finally the transition to seeing nature as my kind of religion, but nonetheless the ongoing fascination for churches, convents and convent life. So thank you Susie, for sharing this story! 🤍🙏🏼

Your so very welcome, I’m gently delighted that my story touched you…

Our childhoods leave huge and long lasting impressions, don’t they?

And strange as it seems in this modern day of everything and anything being acceptable and accepted, religion still holds so many questions and also many answers too.

We seem to share similar memories Johanna, and somehow I am not surprised. 🙏🏽😘

Indeed our childhoods leave strong impressions and we seem to share similar memories. They are often hidden deep down, but sometimes they are triggered to come to the surface. That’s what happened with your story and that’s wonderful! 🤍😘

Your experience with religiosity is similar to mine. The nuns, priests and convent induced fear, their cruelty was far from the love they preached. It took years for me to have a personal relationship with God, it was Nature that taught me... to see Love in all Creation. Your story today resonated with me on so many levels. ✨💕✨😘

Thank you for reading this Pip, I was hesitant about posting firstly because it’s rather long and secondly religion is so very convoluted and can disturb and upset so many people in so many different ways, so far so good though.., including the one family I was concerned about upsetting!

Rain is such a huge talking point here, we don’t have anywhere near the amount desired or needed and summer is looming fast…. I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult it will be for you and everyone that relies on water for their livelihoods where you are.. especially the food producers, their fears must be horrendous.

Sending love from my hill to you and hopes for rain in large quantités always xx
