Hello dear ones, I am hoping your week has begun with a smile and sunshine and clouds of blossom like mine?
I could actually feel spring today, the breezes were warmer, the birds were singing more loudly and the myriad scents of hundreds of blossoming trees were so heady I thought I might just not move from the spot I was fixed to.
I couldn’t have asked for a more heavenly way to end the day…
A few word’s about tiny arrivals…
I’ve been walking with birdsong following in my footsteps. Most of their voices I recognise as the hardy little cherubs that chirrup happily on this hill throughout the winter months. Perhaps awaiting the tourists yet to return from the warmer, distant lands to which they migrate. There are also those that sound like visitors, neither winter dwellers nor summer tourists, their song unrecognisable no matter the season that touches us.
Today I walked with my phone tuned to Merlin bird ID in the hope of knowing who they were. I was unlucky. Buzzards were circling on the thermals and all was quiet. Another day perhaps/I hope they will practice their thuggish acrobatics elsewhere.
As I return the way I came, a dusky half light falling, I hear the highest pitched twittering above me in a branch of the surviving half of a Mediterranean Ash hit by a storm four yeas ago. The fast gathering gloaming limits my vision but as I look up I see two tiny - the tiniest - birds flit in silhouette across the lane; they disappear into the blossom of a damsel tree and sing in sweetest falsetto; Merlin contradicts my beliefs in detecting Fire Crests, not the more common Gold Crests as I thought, could the day get any more delightful really?
I wish you each a gentle week
with love

I have been enthralled and enchanted by every word…
How wonderful! Such tiny bundles of life bursting at feathered seams! Really enjoying your postcards, thank you.
Being that I live so much further north it's wonderful to read "a trailer" to our seasonal near future. Anyway, just wanted to say that I love your sentence construction! Well put together, multiple clause, thought streaming whilst painting an ever widening picture in the readers mind. It's just lovely Susie. Thanks.
