“It is the eye that discovers the mystery of light, not only the moon and the stars and the vast splendours of the Aurora, but the endless changes the earth undergoes under changing lights.”
― Nan Shepherd
A very brief hello to all of you my much appreciated subscribers… welcome with heavenly floating light on this unusually calm - for May 2024 - morning.
Time has been scarce recently, especially time for not attending to the necessary in order to indulge the unnecessary. A few minutes reading and writing have felt like an unaffordable luxury - as if every guilty second ticking by the price doubles…
So I’m squeezing in a few moments before the day begins, before the sleeping world around me wakes up because I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you for spending time with me here, for taking moments from your own busy days to read of my wanderings and send you some love from my hill.
This morning applied itself so perfectly to that…
So, dressed still in my PJ’s I pulled on my wellies, nipped outside in chilly dawn air, before coffee, before the minutes of the day turn, as they surely will, to the necessities… to record a few moments of gorgeousness for you to start or end your day.
Call it a short meditation….
30 seconds of calm - always with love
I’m adding a link below of a morning when I had time to wander and enjoy some of that precious an unnecessary time doing something wonderful…
I am enormously grateful to all of you who share, comment or simply leave a little ♥️ at the end of each of my letters, Thank you.

Laura writes Small Stories about finding magic in the everyday and like me loves chasing a misty morning. So much so she is writing a book, or maybe more appropriately, a meditation about it, you’ll find the link here for the preorder and details of her first book, Little Stories of your Life.
A beautiful way to the start the day Susie. Thank you. Ephemeral is a word that comes to mind...😊😉xx
The perfect ‘fragment’.
