Often when I finish reading you Susie, I notice my breathing is softer, deeper. My gaze less deliberate. If I didn’t know better, I’d say you figured out how to deliver your prose through a warm drip of honey and valerian. But this is no surprise, because I believe the state and intent of a writer is conveyed through their words, and like those oats blowing kisses, your essence deeply felt—pure and gentle and softly reverent.

Finally the stopwatch is no longer spinning.

(From; Of hope… I want to tell you this … June 22, 2025);

You wrote a little over one month ago, when once again, the tsunami of hate and retribution, traveled across the ocean floor, higher and higher as debris from the United States of America pushed against distant shores. While those of us with heart were left grieving for the entire planet. The crisis has not receded even an inch. Nothing in the story has changed ,only our ability to carry more and more, as we cling to words such as kindness and love . Remember that we are all human beings. You ended with ; “With love and desperate hope for humanity”.

Now, you are on vacation from your employment as a teacher. “I want to tell you”; take the time to watch the hare…”while hidden behind three oak trees “.

“I want to tell you”; heed the advice of the great storyteller, Aesop, continue to admire the Hare, but now is the time to be the Tortoise. I wish for you long hazy blurred summer days, with an endless night sky. Lye down in the grass on your hill and look for Perseids meteor showers, be wowed by Cygnus, Lyra, and Aquila. A belated birthday wish from me; May the summer stretch on and on . May all the acorns on the hill sprout roots. Oh, and a belated birthday wish from John Muir;

“Everybody needs beauty...places to play in and pray in where nature may heal and cheer and give strength to the body and soul alike.”
