A little fun with fellow
I was delighted to be asked by Debs
to co write a 100 word story with her; 50 words each, Debs started, I finished…The magician.
Dabelle stood under the disco ball, at the epicentre of light and shadow, her face unturned, her feet tapping out the strong tango rhythm. Her floor-length purple dress was a moving mosaic of light as she swayed alluringly.
Captivated, Larry gazed at her from a dark corner of the room.
He preferred dark corners, there, he could conjure magic, latently.
She wouldn’t dance with him anyway, nobody ever did.
God she was beautiful, he thought, guiltily but not quite…
Eyes closed, muttering words, foreign, indecipherable.
Then, smiling, he watched the disco ball fall, exploding, a thousand sparkles on her head…
